The Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is a sustainability rating scheme which helps clients measure and reduce their environmental impacts of their buildings.  The BRE operate a number of schemes, each designed to assess the environmental performance of different types of buildings at various stages in the life cycle.

The New Construction 2014 (NC 2014) scheme assesses new, non-domestic buildings.  It encourages developers to go beyond the minimum requirements of the Building Regulations.  Environmental performance is quantified by a number of individual measures and associated criteria stretching across a range of environmental issues: Management; Health and Wellbeing; Energy; Transport; Water; Materials; Waste; Land use and Ecology; Pollution; and Innovation.

It is regularly used by local planning authorities as a condition of gaining permission, to set high sustainability standards in the construction of new commercial development.

As each project is unique we will draw upon our experience gained in the industry to provide clients with tailored advice throughout the lifecycle of the project from initial pre-assessment to post construction to enable them to achieve the desired rating.
